Canada’s Anne Carson wins 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature
The winner of this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature is Canadian poet and essayist Anne Carson. The 76-year-old Carson won “for her bold and inventive oeuvre that, in playful dialogue with the classical tradition, has created new forms for contemporary literature”. The announcement was made in Sweden’s capital Stockholm on Thursday. Last year, the Swedish Academy picked Hungarian writer Laszlo Krasznahorkai. The Literature Prize is the fourth award announced each year, following the Nobel Prizes.

How FLIC Trust Scores workFLIC Trust Scores turn community ratings into a 0–100 signal about how readers assess a story. Fake News votes lower the score, while Liberal, Conservative, and Independent classifications support it. The formula also rewards a balanced split between Liberal and Conservative ratings instead of treating one political viewpoint as automatically more trustworthy. Scores can change as more people vote and represent community judgment, not a factual verdict or substitute for reading the original reporting. Learn more about how FLIC works.
