Senior Hong Kong policeman sentenced to 6-month jail term for molesting clerk

A senior Hong Kong police officer has been sentenced to jail for nearly six months for molesting a subordinate on three occasions at the force’s headquarters two years ago. West Kowloon Court on Friday sentenced Senior Superintendent Ian Chow Ngai-kong for flouting the law with his “brazen” and “disrespectful” assaults on the government clerk on June 19 and November 1, 2024. The 51-year-old defendant was not required to serve his sentence of five months and three weeks immediately, as the court.

How FLIC Trust Scores workFLIC Trust Scores turn community ratings into a 0–100 signal about how readers assess a story. Fake News votes lower the score, while Liberal, Conservative, and Independent classifications support it. The formula also rewards a balanced split between Liberal and Conservative ratings instead of treating one political viewpoint as automatically more trustworthy. Scores can change as more people vote and represent community judgment, not a factual verdict or substitute for reading the original reporting. Learn more about how FLIC works.
